Englishman wins Vienna snooker competition

Brit Simon Bedford has taken snooker fans by surprise by winning the second Vienna Snooker Open.

The English underdog beat top seed Jamie Jones from Wales 5:2 to take the EUR 10,000 first prize.

Northern Ireland’s Gerard Green came third while the four Austrians in the tournament, Sebastian Hainzl, Bernhard Müllner, Hans Nirnberger and Zi Kim Chau all made it to the quarter finals.
