The "MQ Vienna Fashion Week" takes place in the Austrian capital city for the fourth time starting today.
The focus of the MQ Fashion week lies mainly on the national designers. Labels such a Callisti, Kayiko, Elfenkleid, Elke Freytag, Michel Mayer, Anelia Peschev, Pitour and Tiberius show their new collections on the runway.
But also many international labels and designers are going to be part of the fashion week in Vienna this year. The labels Pisces, Sane of Molly, Mosstories and Wonder Anatomie come all the way from Thailand to present their cloths.
In total 60 different fashion shows will be shown on the catwalk this year. People also have the chance to buy some of Pret-a-Port the clothes at the Museumsquatier spaces: "Freiraum quartier21", "Arena21" and the "Ovalhalle".
Elvyra Geyer, Zigi Mueller and Maria Oberfrank organized the event and say that they do not want to copy fashion shows such as the ones in Milan, Paris or London. They emphasize that their main goal is to help Austrian designers become more visible.
The MQ Vienna Fashion Week begins on the 12th and ends on the 16th of September 2012.

Possible projects for a "multilingual oriented educational concept" have led to a debate in Vienna. The SPÖ, ÖVP and FPÖ are currently discussing the two sides of the issue: "multilingualism as a chance" and "German as a priority".
Exhibition Drawing Against Oblivion
The Leopold Museum in Vienna opened the the exhibition "Drawing against oblivion" on 17 May. Manfred Bockelmann drew more than 60 portraits of children and teenagers, who were victims of the Nazi terror.
