Policeman saves babies life

A policeman saved the life of a one-year-old child who was brought into a police station in Vienna by her desperate grandfather.

The grandfather rushed the baby into the police station in the Viktor-Christ-Gasse in the Austrian capital after the child collapsed.

Police officers were able to resuscitate the child who the man said had collapsed in the home.

The child was not breathing and was blue in the face and suffering a high temperature.

The police officer was able to stabilise the child through his first aid knowledge and then the child was taken to hospital via ambulance.

It is thought the child was suffering from severe fever cramps.

The evening before the child had been taken to hospital with a high fever and had been given medicine before being discharged.
