Woman killed by tram in Vienna

A 22-year-old woman was killed in the Floridsdorf district of Vienna after she was hit by a tram yesterday (Thurs).

It is thought the woman did not see the tram from number 31 and walked out in front of it and was hit on the Brünner Straße.

The tram driver made an emergency stop but could not avoid hitting the woman.

She died of her injuries at the scene as her helpless sister looked on while emergency teams tried to save her life.

She suffered head injuries and spinal injuries.

Tram lines 30 and 31 were stopped for around 50 minutes following the accident.
