Vienna to St. Pölten in 25 minutes

A high-speed train will connect Vienna and St Pölten in Lower Austria with a maximum speed of 230 km/h.

The train ride between Vienna and St Pölten usually takes 40 minutes. But starting from the 9th December the Austrian train company Österreichische Bundes Bahn (ÖBB) and its speed train "Railjet" as well as the German ICE will transport passengers between both cities in only 25 minutes time.

Daily some 21 high speed trains will go back an fourth between both cities with a top speed of 230 km/h. The ÖBB says that passenger do not have to fear a shaky ride but that the "Railjet" is calmer than any other train-type.
