An Austrian Airlines aircraft has been left damaged at Vienna’s International Airport in Schwechat for the second time in 3 months.
An Austrian Airlines spokesperson confirmed a report in the aviation magazine "Austrian Wings" that the plane had been damaged by a luggage cart . The Boeing 737-800 is currently being repaired.
The spokeswoman said that the the luggage cart caused a rip in the aircraft skin near the cargo door of the aircraft. She pointed out that the airline had a good relationship with the airport and that handling the damage would be managed as a partnership.
The same plane had already been damaged in October when the right wing of a Fokker 100 collided with the left side of the plane as it was being pulled back into the hanger.
The aircraft is scheduled to be back in service this weekend.
